Spring Tractor Tires Checklist
While we know you can’t wait to hit the ground running this spring, be sure to do these simple maintenance checks on your tires to make sure they are ready to work.
It is important to check all of your tires when preparing your equipment.
This tractor tire checklist helps you find any potential problems early in the field.

- Use a high quality digital gauge to adjust inflation to the correct tire pressure.
- Use tire manufacturer’s charts and pricing.
- If the tire is inflated, you will lose traction in the field.

Make sure there are no large cuts or exposed cords.
If you see significant damage, that is a good sign that you need to replace the tires.
Review the steps
Inspect the tread for damage from weeds and cuts, and ensure that the depth of the tread is at least 20%.
If there is any damage or the tread depth has decreased, it is time to replace the tires.
Check the valve stem.
Make sure the valve thread is tight.
Often the valve nut or head is loose which will cause the tire to fail.
